International Forum for the Advocacy of Persons with disabilities
in Asia-Pacific & AP-DPO United 1st Assembly
 
 
 
 
International Forum for the Advocacy of Persons with disabilities in Asia-Pacific & AP-DPO United 1st Assembly,
which will be supported by Korea Foundation for Differently Abled, will be held at Eroom Center, Seoul, Korea
during Oct. 15(tue)~17(thu). Around 100 persons with disabilities from 16 countries will be supposed to attend
this meeting with great anticipation, putting heads together in the first year of the New Decade which will be led by Korea.
 
 
 
 
 
Participants will have a group discussion on each country’s disability movement , activities of DPOs, pending issues
and action plan on 15th. The next day, panel discussions will proceed regarding to Incheon strategy goal 1
(Reduce poverty and enhance work and employment prospects) and 2(Promote Participation in political processes
and decision making)
 
 
 
 
Safeguard campaign of World Bank, exhibition of universal design and photo will be held as side events
at the same time during this forum. There will be a talkfest and an exchange program for women with disabilities
so that strengthen the women’s network in Asia-Pacific region.
 
 
 
 
Persons with disabilities expect their collaboration through this forum will promote the substantive implementation of
Incheon strategy and have a positive effect on policy making of their country including activity of international
solidarity.
